Launch Day!
The Weight of Snow and Regret
At long last, launch day has arrived for The Weight of Snow and Regret, my novel based on the closing of the last poor farm in Vermont in 1968. A big thank you to all who preordered the ebook; I greatly appreciate it!
Ebook, paperback and hardback versions are now available from your preferred book seller.
Description
For over 100 years, no one wanted to be sent to the Sheldon Poor Farm. By 1968, no one wanted to leave.
Amid the social turmoil of 1968, the last poor farm in Vermont is slated for closure. By the end of the year, the twelve destitute residents remaining will be dispatched to whatever institutions will take them, their personal stories lost forever—but not if Hazel has her way.
Told with compassion and humor, The Weight of Snow & Regret tells the poignant story of what it means to care for others in a rapidly changing world.
Blog Tour
Tuesday, October 3, is the kickoff to the blog tour, where I will share: my inspiration for the novel, the historical context, and introductions to some of the characters! Last but not least, you will get to hear the "old" Vermont accent. (Don’t worry. I don’t try to replicate it in the book.)
But Wait, There's More!
I've just contracted with Voice Over Vermont to produce the audiobook for The Weight of Snow and Regret. I'll let you know when I have a release date!
With peace and love,
Liz
